🎵 *OPENING HYMN MHB. 526 — _“O Jesus, I Have Promised”_*
1: O JESUS, I have promised
To serve Thee to the end;
Be Thou for ever near me,
My Master and my Friend:
I shall not fear the battle
If Thou art by my side,
Nor wander from the pathway
If Thou wilt be my guide.
2: O let me feel Thee near me,
The world is ever near;
I see the sights that dazzle,
The tempting sounds I hear;
My foes are ever near me,
Around me and within;
But, Jesus, draw Thou nearer,
And shield my soul from sin.
3: O let me hear Thee speaking
In accents clear and still,
Above the storms of passion,
The murmurs of self-will;
O speak to reassure me,
To hasten or control;
O speak, and make me listen,
Thou Guardian of my soul.
4: O Jesus, Thou hast promised
To all who follow Thee,
That where Thou art in glory
There shall Thy servant be;
And, Jesus, I have promised
To serve Thee to the end;
O give me grace to follow,
My Master and my Friend.
(John Ernest Bode, 1868 — A beloved Wesleyan and Anglican hymn of covenant devotion and steadfast discipleship.)
🙏✝️❤️🔥 *SEVEN PROPHETIC PRAYERS*
(Preparatory — Before the Exhortation)
❤️🔥 *Prayer 1 — _The Risen Christ as Our True Vine_*
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.” — John 15:1 (NKJV).
*_Father of glory, by the power of resurrection life, I root every soul in this assembly deeply into Jesus — the True Vine — and sever every false attachment that has masqueraded as a source of strength, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!_*
❤️🔥 *Prayer 2 — _Fruitfulness Through Abiding_*
“He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” — John 15:5 (NKJV).
*_Lord Jesus, by Your resurrection power, let every branch in this congregation bear much fruit — in ministry, in family, in career, and in kingdom influence — as we remain connected to You, the Living Vine, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!_*
❤️🔥 *Prayer 3 — _The Pruning For Greater Glory_*
“Every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” — John 15:2 (NKJV).
*_Heavenly Vinedresser, where pruning seasons have brought pain, confusion, or loss to our lives, let us now see the purpose — more fruit, greater glory, deeper roots — and receive Your dealings with faith and gratitude, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!_*
❤️🔥 *Prayer 4 — _Cleansed by the Living Word_*
“You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.” — John 15:3 (NKJV).
*_Lord of the Word, by the power of Your spoken and written Word, cleanse every conscience, purge every defilement, and restore the purity of every soul present today — thoroughly and permanently — in Jesus’ Name. Amen!_*
❤️🔥 *Prayer 5 — _Prayers That Bear Fruit_*
“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” — John 15:7 (NKJV).
*_Father, as Your Word abides richly in us, let our prayers carry the weight of heaven! Let every petition of this congregation that aligns with Your will be answered speedily and supernaturally, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!_*
❤️🔥 *Prayer 6 — _The Father Glorified in Our Fruit_*
“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” — John 15:8 (NKJV).
*_Father of all glory, let the fruitfulness of this congregation be so visible and undeniable that nations and generations give glory to Your Name alone! Let our lives be living testimonies of Your resurrection power, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!_*
❤️🔥 *Prayer 7 — _Abiding in His Love_*
“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.” — John 15:9 (NKJV).
*_Lord Jesus, anchor every heart here in the unshakeable love with which the Father loves You! Where love has grown cold, rekindle it. Where love has been wounded, heal it. Let us abide — and never drift — from Your love, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!_*

🍇👑❤️🔥
In the sun-drenched valleys of Tuscany, Italy, generations of vintners have observed a remarkable agricultural truth: a severed branch, however healthy in appearance at the moment of cutting, begins to wither within hours. It may retain its colour for a day. It may still carry a cluster of unripe grapes. But cut off from the vine — cut off from the root system that draws minerals from deep in the earth and channels life through every tendril — it is already dying. The fruit it seemed to promise will never fully form. The branch cannot sustain itself on yesterday’s connection. It must remain connected today.
Beloved, that Tuscan truth is Christ’s Resurrectiontide truth for every believer in this assembly. Jesus did not say, “I was the vine.” He declared — in the eternal present tense — *_“I am the vine”_* (John 15:5, NKJV). The connection he offers is not a historical transaction; it is a living, daily, moment-by-moment union with the Risen and Reigning Christ.
🍇👑❤️🔥
Abiding Is Not an Occasional Visit — It Is a Permanent Address.
The word *_“abide”_* appears ten times in John 15. This is no accident of language. The Holy Spirit is hammering a single, life-defining truth into the consciousness of every disciple: sustained connection is the only pathway to sustained fruitfulness. To abide is to make the Vine your permanent dwelling — not your holiday destination. Many believers visit Christ in crisis and leave Him in comfort. They draw near in desperate prayer but drift in seasons of blessing. Yet Jesus is unequivocal: the branch that does not abide *_“is cast out as a branch and is withered”_* (John 15:6, NKJV). Fruitlessness is not a mere disappointment — it is the inevitable consequence of disconnection.
But hear the glorious counterpart: *_“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you”_* (John 15:7, NKJV). The abiding believer prays with extraordinary authority, because their desires have been shaped by the Word of the Vine. They no longer pray selfishly; they pray prophetically. They no longer beg uncertainly; they ask confidently. Abiding transforms not only your fruitfulness — it transforms your prayers.
🍇👑❤️🔥
The Pruning Is Not Punishment — It Is Promotion.
The Vinedresser — the Father Himself — prunes every branch that bears fruit, *_“that it may bear more fruit”_* (John 15:2, NKJV). This is the hardest truth of the Vine: the most productive branches receive the most deliberate pruning. If you are walking through a season of cutting — a closed door, a stripped comfort, a painful transition — do not conclude that you have been abandoned by the Vinedresser. Conclude instead that you are a fruit-bearing branch receiving heaven’s investment for a greater harvest.
The apostle Paul knew this pruning intimately. Saul of Tarsus — brilliant, zealous, violently misguided — was radically cut back on the Damascus road, temporarily blinded, and redirected into three years of obscurity before emerging as the greatest missionary the Church has ever known. Acts 9:31 records the fruit of that pruned and redirected Church: *_“the churches… had peace and were edified… and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit… were multiplied”_* (NKJV). Pruning preceded multiplication. The cutting produced the harvest.

The Friendship That Changes Everything
The passage reaches its most intimate height when Jesus redefines the relationship: *_“No longer do I call you servants… but I have called you friends”_* (John 15:15, NKJV). A servant obeys without understanding. A friend is trusted with the Master’s heart. Jesus shares with His friends what He has heard from the Father — His purposes, His plans, His passions. This is not merely a positional upgrade; it is a relational revolution. The Risen Christ, who conquered death and ascended to the Father’s right hand, still calls you — by name — His friend.
Walk out of this sanctuary today knowing that you are not merely a forgiven sinner. You are a chosen branch, a fruitful disciple, a beloved friend of the Risen Vine. Stay connected. Abide deeply. And the fruit of your life — in every season — will glorify the Father and confound the enemy.
*_“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain.”_* — John 15:16 (NKJV).
Stay connected, beloved — for the Vine is alive, and so are you! ✝️❤️🔥🦅
🙏✝️❤️🔥 *SEVEN PROPHETIC PRAYERS*
(Intercessory — Follow-up to the Exhortation)
❤️🔥 *Prayer 8 — _Joy Made Full_*
Let God’s Church possess the Overflowing and Complete Joy.
“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” — John 15:11 (NKJV).
*_God of all joy, restore the fullness of resurrection joy to every heart robbed by sorrow, disappointment, or spiritual weariness! Let the joy of the Risen Christ be our strength and our song from this day forward, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!_*
❤️🔥 *Prayer 9 — _Love That Lays Everything Down_*
O LORD, strengthen us to keep demonstrating the Greatest Love of All.
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” — John 15:13 (NKJV).
*_Risen Saviour, let the revelation of Your sacrificial love shatter every stronghold of selfishness, spiritual coldness, and indifference in this congregation! Let love — costly, Christ-like, and consistent — define our fellowship, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!_*
❤️🔥 *Prayer 10 — Called Friends, Not Servants_*
O LORD, let our relationship be elevated to Friendship with God.
“No longer do I call you servants… but I have called you friends.” — John 15:15 (NKJV).
*_Lord Jesus, let every member of this assembly walk in the full dignity and intimacy of their identity as Your friends — chosen, trusted, and loved! Deliver us from a servant’s fear and establish in us a friend’s confidence, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!_*
❤️🔥 *Prayer 11 — _Chosen and Appointed to Bear Fruit_*
Prove in our Divine mission that quality of being Chosen With Purpose.
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain.” — John 15:16 (NKJV).
*_Father, let the divine election and appointment over every life in this congregation be fully activated today! Where purpose has been dormant, awaken it. Where calling has been buried, resurrect it. Let our fruit remain — eternally, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!_*
❤️🔥 *Prayer 12 — _Breakthrough in Every Pending Request_*
Do it for my hearers today by ensuring whatever positive request they make in Jesus’ Name is fulfilled, today.
“…that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.” — John 15:16 (NKJV).
*_Father God, by the authority of the Name that is above every name, I present every unresolved petition, every long-awaited breakthrough, and every delayed miracle of this congregation before Your throne — let answers come now, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!_* (Ezekiel 12: 26-28)
❤️🔥 *Prayer 13 — _The Church Established in Christ’s Peace_*
Grant Is Your Peace That Passes Understanding.
“And the churches… walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.” — Acts 9:31 (NKJV).
*_Holy Spirit of God, establish Christ’s Good News Mission and every branch of Your Church in deep peace, holy fear, and apostolic multiplication! Let every congregation, ministry, and mission outpost flourish and expand, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!_*
❤️🔥 *Prayer 14 — _A Harvest Sunday of Souls_*
Let Us Testify of Souls Added to the Vine.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…” — Matthew 28:19 (NKJV).
*_Lord of the harvest, let this 5th Sunday of Resurrectiontide mark a turning point for souls! Draw the lost, the straying, and the searching into the embrace of the True Vine today — let no one leave this service the same, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!_*
🎵 *CLOSING HYMN MHB. 948 — _“Abide With Me”_*
1: ABIDE with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide;
When other helpers fail, and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
2: Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
Earth’s joys grow dim, its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
3: I need Thy presence every passing hour;
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s power?
Who like Thyself my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.
4: Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies;
Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.
(Henry Francis Lyte, 1847 — One of the most profoundly loved hymns in all of Christendom, a fitting seal upon a message of divine abiding.)
