Before We Receive the Word…

*1. The Prayer for Evangelistic Fire.*

 

_“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.”_ — Romans 1:16 (NKJV).

 

🔥 *_O God of salvation, ignite in every heart worshipping with us today an unquenchable, unapologetic, unstoppable passion for the souls of men and women around us. Burn away every trace of shame, every layer of timidity, and every excuse that has silenced our witness. Let the Gospel feel to us today what it truly is — the most powerful, most urgent, and most glorious message ever entrusted to human lips. Set us ablaze, Lord — with a fire for souls that no opposition can extinguish and no comfort can compete with, in Jesus’ Name!_* 🔥

 

 

*2. The Prayer for Fresh Compassion.*

 

_“But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.”_ — Matthew 9:36 (NKJV).

 

🔥 *_Compassionate Saviour, grant us Your compassionate eyes today. Let us see the multitudes around us — in our neighbourhoods, our workplaces, our families, and our digital spaces — the way You see them. Weary. Scattered. Without a Shepherd. Melt every hardness that familiarity with church life has produced in us toward the lost. Let genuine compassion — not religious duty — be the fuel of our evangelism. Move us, Lord, with the same compassion that moved You to Calvary, in Jesus’ Name!_* 🔥

 

 

*3. The Prayer for Boldness in Witness.*

 

_“Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word.”_ — Acts 4:29 (NKJV).

 

🔥 *_Strong and Mighty God, we confess that the fear of man has silenced many of our testimonies and paralysed many of our Kingdom conversations. We repent of every moment we chose social comfort over spiritual obedience. Grant us today the same holy boldness that caused Peter and John to speak even under the threat of imprisonment. Let our mouths be opened with supernatural courage. Let our witness be clear, compelling, and Christ-centred. We will not be silenced — not by culture, not by criticism, not by convenience, in Jesus’ mighty Name!_* 🔥

 

 

*4. The Prayer for a Soul-Winning Church.*

 

_“And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”_ — Acts 2:47b (NKJV).

 

🔥 *_Lord of the harvest, let Christ’s Good News Mission become a church so consumed with soul-winning that the supernatural addition of Acts 2:47 becomes our daily testimony. Let every member be a witness, every service be an opportunity, every relationship be a redemptive assignment. Breathe upon our evangelism efforts — our website, our outreach, our personal testimonies — with such divine favour that souls are drawn irresistibly to the Christ we proclaim. Add to our number daily, Lord — and let every addition bring glory to Your Name, in Jesus’ Name!_* 🔥

 

 

📜 THE TEACHING

 

*THE FIRE THAT CANNOT BE QUENCHED*

TEXTS: Jeremiah 20:9; Acts 1:8; Romans 1:16; Mark 16:15; Proverbs 11:30.

 

*INTRODUCTION*

 

*_“The Fire That Cannot Be Quenched”_* speaks about the divine, irrepressible compulsion at the heart of every genuinely called believer — the burning, non-negotiable mandate to win souls, share the Gospel, and rescue the perishing with the life-giving message of Jesus Christ.

 

*_Soul-winning is not a department of the Church._*

*_Soul-winning is not a gift reserved for the extroverted._*

*_Soul-winning is not a seasonal programme activated during crusade week._*

*_Soul-winning is not optional for those who feel adequately gifted for it._*

 

*_Soul-winning is the reason the Church exists._*

 

Every other Kingdom activity — worship, discipleship, stewardship, fellowship — is either a preparation for soul-winning or a consequence of it. When the Church loses its evangelistic fire, it does not merely lose a programme. It loses its reason for being in the world at all.

 

Jeremiah tried to stop. He had been mocked, persecuted, thrown into a pit, and publicly humiliated for delivering God’s message. His resolution was firm — he would speak no more in God’s name. But something inside him refused to cooperate with that resolution. *_“His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not”_* (Jeremiah 20:9, NKJV). The fire of divine compulsion was simply unquenchable.

 

This is the nature of genuine evangelistic calling — it cannot be permanently suppressed by comfort, silenced by opposition, or extinguished by discouragement. It burns. It presses. It compels. And the servant who has truly encountered the living Christ finds, sooner or later, that the Good News inside them simply refuses to stay inside them.

 

Proverbs 11:30 declares with timeless simplicity: *_“He who wins souls is wise.”_* Not merely gifted. Not merely courageous. But wise — possessing the highest order of Kingdom intelligence. For what greater wisdom exists than to invest one’s life in the only commodity that outlasts time itself — the eternal soul of a human being?

 

The Great Commission of Matthew 28:19–20 was not addressed to apostles alone. It was addressed to disciples — to every man and woman who has ever answered the call to follow Jesus. *_“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.”_* The “go” is universal. The mandate is collective. The fire belongs to every believer without exception.

 

Beloved worker of Christ’s Good News Mission, you carry within you the most powerful, most needed, and most urgently relevant message in human history. A world drowning in despair, confusion, and moral collapse is not waiting for better politics or improved economics alone — it is waiting, whether it knows it or not, for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And God, in His sovereign wisdom, has placed that Gospel in your hands, on your lips, and in your life.

 

The fire cannot be quenched. The question is simply whether you will let it burn.

 

*1. SOUL-WINNING IS A DIVINE COMPULSION*

 

Jeremiah 20:9.

*_“His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not.”_*

 

The genuinely called servant cannot permanently silence the evangelistic fire within:

Acute season of lack may hinder it emotionally — but never spiritually

Persecution may suppress it temporarily — but never permanently

Discouragement may dampen it seasonally — but never finally

Comfort may distract from it — but never fully satisfy in its place

Silence may be attempted — but the fire always breaks through

 

*LESSON:*

If the fire of soul-winning has grown cold in you, it is not gone — it is only buried. Ask God to resurrect it, and watch it blaze again with greater intensity than before.

 

*2. SOUL-WINNING IS A UNIVERSAL ASSIGNMENT*

 

Mark 16:15.

*_“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”_*

 

The Great Commission carries no exemption clauses:

*_No exemption for the introverted or the timid_*

*_No exemption for the theologically untrained_*

*_No exemption for those in difficult personal seasons_*

*_No exemption for those whose gifts lie in other ministry areas_*

 

Every believer is a witness. Every life is a testimony. Every relationship is a mission field.

 

*LESSON:*

You do not need a pulpit to preach the Gospel. You need a surrendered life and an open mouth, ready pen, or platform. Your greatest evangelistic tool is the transformed life you are already living.

 

*3. SOUL-WINNING IS THE CHURCH’S HIGHEST WISDOM*

 

Proverbs 11:30.

*_“He who wins souls is wise.”_*

 

Kingdom wisdom prioritises what God prioritises:

God so loved the world that He gave His Son — souls matter supremely to Him

Heaven rejoices over one repentant sinner — souls are heaven’s celebration

Jesus came to seek and save the lost — souls defined His entire earthly mission

The angels of God desire to look into salvation — souls captivate even heaven’s attention.

 

*LESSON:*

A church that is busy with everything except soul-winning is a busy church that is missing the point entirely. Wisdom returns us always to the harvest.

 

*4. SOUL-WINNING IS EMPOWERED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT*

 

Acts 1:8.

*_“You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me.”_*

 

Effective soul-winning is never a human achievement:

*_The Holy Spirit convicts — we cannot manufacture conviction_*

*_The Holy Spirit draws — we cannot engineer genuine conversion_*

*_The Holy Spirit empowers our witness beyond our natural ability_*

*_The Holy Spirit goes before us into every conversation and encounter._*

 

*LESSON:*

I are not the Saviour — I am the witness. Our responsibility is availability and obedience. The Holy Spirit’s responsibility is power and persuasion. We must partner with Him — and watch souls come in.

 

 

🙏 *INTERCESSORY PRAYERS*

After the Word — Into the World We Go

 

*1. The Prayer for the Lost Around Us.*

 

*_“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”_*

— Luke 19:10 (NKJV).

 

🔥 *_Saviour who seeks to save the lost, we lift before You right now the names and faces of those in our lives who are yet outside Your saving grace — family members, colleagues, neighbours, and friends whose eternal destiny hangs in the balance. We stand in the gap for them today with holy intercession and holy expectation. Seek them out, Lord, with the same relentless love that sought us. Soften their hearts. Remove every spiritual blindness. Send Your Word and Your witnesses across their paths this very week. Save them, Lord — save them urgently and completely, in Jesus’ Name!_* 🔥

 

 

*2. The Prayer for Our Evangelistic Platforms.*

 

_“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”_ — Romans 10:15b (NKJV).

 

🔥 *_God of beautiful feet, we pray over every platform through which Christ’s Good News Mission carries the Gospel — our pulpit, our website at evangelion-tm.com, our social media presence, our personal testimonies, and our community engagements. Anoint every platform with supernatural reach and divine effectiveness. Let the Gospel carried through these channels penetrate hearts that no human strategy alone could access. Give our digital feet beautiful speed and our spoken words beautiful power. Let souls be saved through every channel we consecrate to You, in Jesus’ Name!_* 🔥

 

 

*3. The Prayer for Fearless Witnesses.*

 

_“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”_ — 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV).

 

🔥 *_God who empowers, we decree the death of the spirit of fear and lack that has silenced the witness of so many believers in this generation. Let power arise where timidity and poverty have reigned. Let love for souls overcome the fear of rejection. Let a sound mind replace the anxious overthinking that paralyses our evangelistic obedience. Send every worker from this gathering as a fearless, Spirit-empowered witness — into their homes, their streets, their offices, and their online communities. Let Nigeria hear the Gospel through our lips or platforms this week — boldly, clearly, and lovingly, in Jesus’ Name!_* 🔥

 

 

*4. The Prayer for Revival Fire.*

 

_“Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?”_ — Psalm 85:6 (NKJV).

 

🔥 *_God of every revival, we cry out for a fresh outpouring of soul-winning fire upon Christ’s Good News Mission and upon the Church of Jesus Christ in our nation. Let the embers of passion for the lost be fanned into an all-consuming, community-transforming, generation-shaking revival flame. Let our workers leave every Tuesday so ablaze that their Monday-to-Sunday lives become living invitations to a saving encounter with Jesus. Revive us again, Lord — and through our revival, let multitudes be saved, in the matchless and mighty Name of Jesus!_* 🔥
