๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ *PREPARATORY PRAYERS*

Before We Receive the Wordโ€ฆ

*_“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword.”_*

โ€” Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV).

*1. The Prayer for Diligent Approval.*

*_“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”_*

โ€” 2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV).

๐Ÿ”ฅ *_Righteous Judge and Faithful Master, we come before You today mindful that every worker’s labour is ultimately weighed not by the applause of the congregation but by the verdict of heaven. Search us now, Lord, and reveal every corner where diligence has quietly given way to shortcut, where excellence has been traded for convenience. Make us workers who need not be ashamed โ€” not because we are flawless, but because we are faithful; not because we escape examination, but because we welcome it. Approve us today by Your grace, and keep us approved by our continued diligence, in Jesus’ Name!_* ๐Ÿ”ฅ

*2. The Prayer Against the Fear of Man.*

*_“The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.”_*

โ€” Proverbs 29:25 (NKJV).

๐Ÿ”ฅ *_Sovereign Lord, we renounce today every snare of pleasing men more than pleasing You. Deliver every worker present from the silence that fears offence, the compromise that fears rejection, and the timidity that fears standing alone for truth. Where the applause of the crowd has quietly become louder in our hearts than Your approval, forgive us and realign us. Let the fear of the Lord replace the fear of man, that we may speak, serve, and stand exactly as You require โ€” regardless of who is watching, or who walks away, in Jesus’ mighty Name!_* ๐Ÿ”ฅ

*3. The Prayer for Faithful Handling of the Word.*

*_“We have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully.”_*

โ€” 2 Corinthians 4:2 (NKJV).

๐Ÿ”ฅ *_God of Unshakeable Truth, guard every worker in this gathering from the subtle temptation to bend Your Word for convenience, popularity, or personal advantage. Let us never trim Your truth to fit a comfortable message, nor stretch it to justify a preferred conclusion. Give us the courage to rightly divide what You have plainly spoken, and the humility to leave alone what You have not. Let our handling of Scripture be marked by integrity that has nothing to hide and nothing to fear, in Jesus’ Name!_* ๐Ÿ”ฅ

*4. The Prayer for an Unashamed Life.*

*_“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.”_*

โ€” Romans 1:16 (NKJV).

๐Ÿ”ฅ *_Lord Jesus, Author and Finisher of our faith, remove from us every trace of shame concerning Your gospel, Your name, and Your call upon our lives. In workplaces that mock conviction, in relationships that pressure silence, and in a culture increasingly hostile to plain truth, make us bold rather than bashful, open rather than hidden. Let the power of the gospel we carry silence every embarrassment we have ever felt about carrying it. Today, we choose to be unashamed โ€” in word, in worship, and in witness, in Jesus’ triumphant Name!_* ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿ“œ THE TEACHING

*THE WORKER WHO NEED NOT BE ASHAMED*

TEXTS: 2 Timothy 2:15; Romans 1:16; 2 Timothy 1:8; 2 Corinthians 4:2; 1 John 2:28.

*INTRODUCTION*

*_“The Worker Who Need Not Be Ashamed”_* brings us to the closing summit of Block Three โ€” The Disciple’s Discipline โ€” and it could not be a more fitting conclusion. We began this block addicted to the Word. We progressed into the discipline of the secret place. We learned the forgotten grace of accountability. We examined the unmistakable marks of a true disciple. We stood firm on sound doctrine in a noisy age. And now, having been trained, tested, and shaped through five demanding weeks, Scripture brings us to the one question that determines whether all that training has actually taken root: when the verdict is finally read over your life and labour, will you stand approved, or will you stand ashamed?

The Apostle Paul writes to Timothy with unmistakable clarity: *_“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”_* โ€” 2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV). Notice carefully what this verse does not say. It does not say, *_“Present yourself impressive to the congregation.” _* It does not say, *_“Present yourself popular among your peers.”_*

It says, present yourself approved to God โ€” for it is His verdict, and His verdict alone, that determines whether a worker’s life has truly counted.

ย

This approval is not automatic, nor is it accidental. The word *“diligent”* โ€” from the Greek spoudazo, meaning to make haste, to be zealous, to exert deliberate effort โ€” reveals that unashamed workmanship is the fruit of sustained discipline, not a lucky inheritance. It is precisely the discipline this entire block has been cultivating in us: addiction to the Word, devotion in the secret place, submission to accountability, fidelity to sound doctrine. These are not disconnected virtues โ€” they are the very ingredients from which an unashamed worker is built.

And this shame Paul warns against is not a minor embarrassment. It is the shame of a worker whose labour is examined and found wanting; the shame of one who built with wood, hay, and stubble where gold, silver, and precious stones were required (1 Corinthians 3:12-13); the shame Saint John describes when he writes that we labour now so that *_“when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.”_* โ€” 1 John 2:28 (NKJV). Every faithful hour in the secret place, every accountable confession, every rightly-divided doctrine, every unashamed testimony is quietly, invisibly building toward that one great and certain Day.

Beloved worker, Block Three now draws to its close โ€” but its purpose was never merely academic. It was formation. It was preparation for exactly this moment: to stand before God, unashamed, having laboured diligently, spoken faithfully, and lived worthy of the trust He has placed upon us. Let us examine, from Scripture, the four marks of the worker who need not be ashamed.

*1. THE APPROVAL THAT MATTERS MOST*

2 Timothy 2:15.

*_“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed.”_*

The worker pursuing God’s approval above every other is marked by:

*_A settled indifference to human applause when it conflicts with divine expectation_*

*_A private diligence in prayer, study, and preparation that no one else observes or applauds_*

*_A willingness to be misunderstood by the crowd, so long as they remain understood by God_*

*_A daily self-examination that asks, “Would this please Him?” before asking, “Will this please them?”_*

ย

*LESSON:*

There are two audiences before every worker: the visible congregation that applauds today, and the invisible God who examines eternally. The worker who confuses the two builds a ministry that impresses for a season and collapses under scrutiny. The worker who diligently seeks God’s approval alone builds something that stands, whether or not anyone else was ever watching.

*2. THE COURAGE THAT NEVER APOLOGISES FOR THE GOSPEL*

Romans 1:16; 2 Timothy 1:8.

*_“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation.”_*

The worker who carries unashamed courage demonstrates:

*_A readiness to identify openly with Christ, even where that identification costs status, comfort, or acceptance_*

*_A refusal to soften, hide, or apologise for the exclusive claims of the gospel to avoid offence_*

*_A willingness to share in the sufferings of the gospel, rather than retreating whenever the message grows unpopular_*

*_A confidence rooted not in personal boldness but in the proven power of the message itself_*

*LESSON:*

Shame over the gospel rarely announces itself directly โ€” it disguises itself as tact, as sensitivity, as choosing one’s battles. Yet Paul’s confidence was never in his own courage; it was in the gospel’s power. The worker who truly believes the gospel is “the power of God to salvation” finds shame gradually replaced by a boldness that no longer needs to be manufactured โ€” because it is anchored in what the message actually is.

*3. THE INTEGRITY THAT RIGHTLY DIVIDES THE WORD*

2 Timothy 2:15; 2 Corinthians 4:2.

*_“Rightly dividing the word of truth… not handling the word of God deceitfully.”_*

Integrity in handling the Word is revealed through:

*_A commitment to teach what Scripture actually says, rather than what an audience prefers to hear_*

*_A discipline that studies a text in its full context before ever standing to explain it to others_*

*_A refusal to twist Scripture โ€” even slightly, even sincerely โ€” to support a predetermined conclusion_*

*_A transparency that welcomes correction whenever error in interpretation is lovingly revealed_*

ย

*LESSON:*

Every worker who teaches, preaches, or counsels from Scripture carries a sacred and dangerous responsibility โ€” the responsibility of accurately representing the mind of God to the people of God. Careless or self-serving handling of the Word produces shame that cannot be undone once souls have been misled by it. But the worker who labours to rightly divide truth need never fear the moment their handling of Scripture is examined โ€” for it was already examined, carefully, before it was ever spoken.

*4. THE CONFIDENCE THAT AWAITS HIS COMING*

1 John 2:28; 1 Peter 4:16.

*_“Abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.”_*

The worker who lives in readiness for Christ’s return is marked by:

*_A daily abiding in Christ that requires no last-minute scramble to make things right before He appears_*

*_A settled peace, rather than anxious dread, whenever the subject of Christ’s return arises_*

*_A willingness to suffer present reproach for Christ’s name, trusting future glory to more than compensate_*

*_A life so consistently ordered around eternal accountability that no secret exists which His appearing would expose with shame._*

*LESSON:*

Every worker will one day stand before Him โ€” not metaphorically, but actually. The question this final week of Block Three leaves with us is not whether that Day will come, but whether abiding, diligent, unashamed living has already been preparing us for it. The worker who abides today will not scramble tomorrow. The worker who need not be ashamed is simply the worker who has already been living, in secret, as though the appearing could happen at any moment โ€” because it can.

๐Ÿ™ *INTERCESSORY PRAYERS*

After the Word โ€” Into the World We Go

*1. The Prayer for Workers Marked by Divine Approval.*

*_“Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.”_*

โ€” 1 Corinthians 4:2 (NKJV).

๐Ÿ”ฅ *_Faithful Master, we intercede for every worker across Christ’s Good News Mission โ€” that the defining mark of our service would be found faithfulness, not merely fruitfulness that can be counted or platforms that can be measured. Let diligence become our daily discipline rather than our occasional aspiration. Examine our hearts now, quietly, before the greater examination comes, and let whatever needs correcting be corrected today. Raise up a generation of workers marked, unmistakably, by Your approval, in Jesus’ Name!_* ๐Ÿ”ฅ

*2. The Prayer for Boldness in a Compromising Age.*

*_“And now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word… And they spoke the word of God with boldness.”_*

โ€” Acts 4:29, 31 (NKJV).

๐Ÿ”ฅ *_Lord of the early Church, grant Christ’s Good News Mission the same boldness You granted the disciples under threat and pressure. In a season where truth is increasingly costly to speak, let none of our workers retreat into comfortable silence. Fill us afresh with Your Spirit, that our boldness may not be occasional bravado but a settled, Spirit-empowered posture โ€” unshaken by threats, undeterred by unpopularity, in Jesus’ mighty Name!_* ๐Ÿ”ฅ

*3. The Prayer for Faithful Handlers of Truth.*

*_“Rightly dividing the word of truth.”_*

โ€” 2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV).

๐Ÿ”ฅ *_God of Truth, we intercede for every teacher, preacher, and worker within our fellowship entrusted with the sacred task of explaining Your Word to others. Guard their preparation. Sharpen their interpretation. Humble their motives. Let no worker among us ever bend Scripture to fit an agenda, flatter an audience, or avoid a costly truth. Let us be found, always, as faithful and accurate handlers of what You have actually said, in Jesus’ Name!_* ๐Ÿ”ฅ

*4. The Prayer for a Mission Found Ready at His Coming.*

*_“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your lord.”_*

โ€” Matthew 25:21 (NKJV).

๐Ÿ”ฅ *_Coming King, we intercede for Christ’s Good News Mission โ€” that when You appear, we would be found abiding, working, and watching, rather than scrambling, hiding, or ashamed. Let every worker so order their private life and public service that Your sudden appearing would be met with confidence, not panic; joy, not dread. Prepare us now, in this present season of discipline, for that great and certain Day when every faithful labour receives its full and glorious reward, in Jesus’ triumphant and altogether glorious Name!_* ๐Ÿ”ฅ
