🕊️ *LENTEN DEVOTION – DAY 27* 🕊
💎 *Monday – Fourth Week of Lent – Healing for broken hearts.* 💎
💔 *The Balm for Wounded Souls* 💔
Today we bring the broken heart to the Creator and Healer. Psalm 147:3 (NKJV) declares, *_“He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds.”_* Lent invites us to lean into God’s restorative touch, allowing Him to mend what is torn, comfort those who are grieving, and renew the hearts that are worn down by sorrow. Healing is often a process—steadily, gently, in the “patient work” of grace.
This generation has recorded the largest number of communities bearing collective scars—from personal loss to conflict to economic strain. A pastor’s comforting words, a nurse’s attentive care, a friend’s consistent presence—these acts become conduits of Divine balm. Churches and faith-based organisations can host healing prayers, support groups, and practical relief for those walking through grief, loneliness, or trauma, reflecting Jesus as the great Physician in our land.
*Reflection:* Where is your heart most in need of divine healing touch today? Will you allow God to attend to the wounds others cannot see—the hidden hurts in relationships, trust, or identity? *Lent* invites us to receive healing by faith, then become agents of healing to others.
*Today’s practice invites you to:*
Sit with one person who bears a burden; offer listening minds, say genuine heart-warming prayer, and offer humble, practical support.
Pray the Psalm 147:3 blessing over someone who hurts.
Journal a step you can take this week to bring physical comfort, emotional support or restoration to someone in need.
🙏 *LITURGICAL PRAYER* 🙏
*_O Jehovah Rapha, Great Healer,_* you bind up the broken-hearted and heal our deepest wounds. Bring tender restoration to my heart and to our nation, where many carry unseen pain and sink beneath the coldness of debts. Give me the courage to bring comfort and wisdom to point others to Your healing grace, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. *(Psalm 147:3 NKJV)*
*Prayer for personal restoration:* Father, restore me where I am broken; renew my strength and expunge my fears. May the comfort of Your Spirit overflow to others through me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. *(Isaiah 61:1-3 NKJV)*
*Intercession for those in pain across Nigeria:* Lord, grant relief to the grieving, relief workers, medical teams, and all who long for peace. May communities become places of healing, reconciliation, love and hope, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. *(Psalm 34:18; Isaiah 61:1 NKJV)*
*Closing blessing:* May the God of all consolation strengthen you today and always. Amen. *(2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NKJV)*
