15. *_Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here._*

10. *_and said, “O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord?_*

11. *_And now, indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.” Immediately, a dark mist fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by hand._*

Great is Thy faithfulness,
O God, my Father.
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
Thou changest not –
Thy compassions they fail not.
As Thou hast been
Thou forever will be.

*_Great is Thy faithfulness_*
*_Great is Thy faithfulness_*
*_Morning by morning, new mercies I see_*
*_And all I have needed Thy hand hath provided_*
*_Great is Thy faithfulness_*
*_Lord unto me._*

Pardon for sin,
And a peace that endureth.
Thine own dear presence to cheer
And to guide.
Strength for today
And bright hope for tomorrow.
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside.

*_Great is Thy faithfulness_*
*_Great is Thy faithfulness_*
*_Lord every morning new mercies I see_*
*_And all I have needed Thy hands hath provided_*
*_Great is Thy faithfulness_*
*_Great is Thy faithfulness_*
*_Great is Thy faithfulness_*
*_Lord unto me_*
*_So faithful to me_*

The credits for the hymn *_“Great Is Thy Faithfulness”_* are:
Thomas Obadiah Chisholm: He wrote the lyrics in 1923.
William M. Runyan: Composed the music.
Chisholm was a Methodist minister and poet from Kentucky. He wrote the poem about God’s faithfulness in his life. Runyan was a musician associated with the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. After reading Chisholm’s poem, Runyan composed the music for it.
The phrase “great is thy faithfulness” comes from the Old Testament Book of Lamentations 3:23. The hymn was popularised by Billy Graham’s crusades and the Moody Bible Institute.
Maranatha Music rendered the piece here!

1. God’s promise for your life – and my life – shall no more be delayed: I enter into God’s presence today in Jesus’ Name!

2. God has caused them to vanish: every evil dream against your success and mine will never manifest, in the mighty Name of Jesus.

4. Everything is working for my breakthrough and in my favour. Money has become my obedient servant: With every unmerited favour, it flows to me now and forever, in Jesus’ Name.

5. Let every agent of darkness sent against me choose between repenting to work in my favour and perishing – in Jesus’ Name.

6. (Acts. 13:6-12) I arrest every antagonist of my greatness with blindness, deafness and dumbness as I walk in the power of God’s presence – in the Name of Jesus Christ.

7. (Isaiah 51:9-11) Awake, O arm of the Lord and destroy every merciless attacker of my fulfilment, in Jesus’ Name.

AMEN. 💕

Our *GOOD NEWS* is titled *“The Essentiality of Divine Power II”*

🦅 *TEXT: Matthew 7:7-8._*

*_Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for everyone that asks receives; he that seeks finds, and to him that knocks it shall be opened._* 💕

*Hymn on focus: _“Great is thy Faithfulness.”_*

Beloved, the month – December – is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception. The first 24 days of December fall into the liturgical season known as *_Advent_* and are represented by the liturgical colour purple — a symbol of penance, mortification and the sorrow of a contrite heart. God forgives, heals and empowers the penitent to live meaningful, better lives.

The divine empowerment begins with *“The Essentiality of Divine Power,”* as we said in the first part of this discourse. Here, we were enlightened that to have the power to possess our possessions, we need the contents of *Exodus 33: 12-17* (Power of God’s Presence) and *Acts 13:6-12* where we get the assurance of the power to defeat the strongman against our calling, life, family and destiny.

💕 We consulted our source through our owner’s manual—the Holy Bible. With faith, we prayed following divine directives. Earlier in the week, we held on to three keywords from our text: *_Ask, Seek, and Knock!* We are moving forward today! 🦅

In our Old Testament Lesson, Moses asked, believed, and received what he requested. We usually ask and do not receive because our obedience is incomplete. We must belong to God for His promises to work in our lives. Hence, God’s blessings are blessings of obedience. Then you can ask and receive fulfilment!
Moses requested and received God’s presence, which dwelt with him throughout his campaign to lead God’s people to the promised land. He became an awe-inspiring leader who was feared and honoured to this day. With the presence of God, Moses became an enigma. *_We all need this Power of God’s Presence!_*

In the New Testament, Paul and Barnabas’ Preaching and teaching of the word of God converted the Pro-Consul, Sergius Paulus, in Cyprus. Elymas the Sorcerer – Bar-Jesus – stood as the hinderer of the gospel but witnessed a huge defeat. You also need God’s presence of power to discern the evil blockade and act right to save souls. In our hearts, this ingrains the worth of a soul: The forces of evil and good must clash to save a soul. The presence of God makes impossibility possible. The New Testament Lesson discusses God’s Holy Spirit’s Power to expose and defeat evil powers. *_If we need God’s POWER to discern spirits and take prompt and appropriate action, then all believers need God’s power!_*

We defined Essentiality, Power, and Authority as they illuminate our discourse on *_the Essentiality of Divine Power._*

*_The Essentiality of Divine Power_* refers to the indispensability of the authority and the power of God’s presence in the life and deeds of a Christian for the manifestation of divine possibilities and fulfilment. When we are in God’s presence, He will have His way and make all our impossibilities give way to positive achievements.

💕 Our *GOOD NEWS* is titled *“The Essentiality of Divine Power II”*

🦅 *TEXT: Matthew 7:7-8.*
*_Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for everyone that asks receives; he that seeks finds, and to him that knocks it shall be opened._* 💕

To drive home our discourse today, Beloved, we gather to explore the essentiality of divine power in our lives. In an ever-changing world, we often feel powerless against the challenges and adversities we face. Yet, in Matthew 7:7-8, Jesus offers us a profound assurance that God’s divine power is available to those who seek it. Let us examine why we need divine power, how to secure our rights to success, and how to find a permanent position in God’s presence.

1. *Why We Need Divine Power:*
Divine power is essential because it empowers us to overcome obstacles and fulfil our God-given purpose. Here are our benefits:

*_Strength in Weakness:_*
In 2 Corinthians 12:9, Apostle Paul writes, *_“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”_* Here, we see that divine power is most evident when we are at our weakest, highlighting our dependence on God.

*_Victory Over Sin:_*
Romans 8:37 states, *_“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”_* It is through divine power that we gain victory over sin and the struggles of this world. Without it, we may find ourselves defeated and discouraged.

*_Guidance During Decision Making:_*
Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *_“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”_*
Divine guidance is crucial for making decisions that align with God’s will.

*_Get the Power to Give!_*
A notable verse that emphasises the role of God’s power in the creation of wealth, as well as the importance of generosity, is Deuteronomy 8:18, which states:
*_“But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.”_* (NIV)

This verse highlights that we can obtain wealth through God’s provision and empowerment, reminding us of our responsibility to use that wealth for good, including helping those in need.

For a New Testament perspective, you might also consider Acts 20:35:
*_“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work, we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'”_* (NIV).

*_Giving makes you blessed. It places you in a position of permanent importance in God’s presence._*  So, God gives us so that we may assist His mission and help the needy. The preceding verses convey the dual message of reliance on God for provision and the call to generosity.

2. *How to Secure Our Rights to Success:*
To secure our rights to success, we must actively seek and align ourselves with God’s purpose for our lives.

*_Persistent Prayer:_*
Matthew 7:7 encourages us to ask, seek, and knock. This persistent pursuit is fundamental. Philippians 4:6 says, *_“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”_*

*_Faith in Action:_*
James 2:17 states, *_“Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”_* We must act upon our faith, taking steps in alignment with God’s divine will while trusting in His power to guide us.

*_Embrace Divine Wisdom:_*
Proverbs 2:6 reminds us, *_“For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”_* Seeking God’s wisdom guarantees that the success we pursue is in harmony with His plans.

3. *How We Can Find a Permanent Position in God’s Presence:*
Finding a permanent position in God’s presence requires intentionality and persistence in our relationship.

*_Cultivate a Relationship through Prayer and Worship:_*
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 encourages us to *_“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances.”_* Regular communication with God solidifies our position in His presence.

*_Obedience to His Word:_*
John 15:7 teaches us, *_“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”_*
Living obediently keeps us intertwined with God’s heart, ensuring we can confidently ask and receive.

*_Fellowship with Fellow Believers:_*
Hebrews 10: 24-25 encourages us to recognise our meeting together. When we come together in fellowship, we strengthen each other, encouraging one another to remain in God’s presence.

Beloved people of God, divine power is not an abstract concept but a vital source of strength, guidance, and success. We can secure a permanent position in God’s presence by recognising our need for divine power, actively seeking God’s wisdom, and establishing a continuous relationship with Him. The English Standard Version (ESV) Bible warns about certain people, mostly critics and liberal minds, who are half-hearted about godliness: *_“Having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people”_*
Such people—where they are in the body of believers—are either carnal or nominal Christians. Let us be bold in our prayers and relentless in our pursuit of God’s power, for He is faithful to respond to our Christ-centred demands.

We serve a God who desires to empower, uplift, and draw us closer to Him. Remember Matthew 7:7-8 and embrace the promise that when we ask, seek, and knock, our loving Father will open previously unseen doors and supply us with the divine power necessary to thrive. So shall it be. Amen.

*_I pray that the Holy Spirit will open our eyes, giving us the ability to see beyond the physical; open our ears to hear His voice of instruction, our minds to discern the perfect law of liberty, and our hearts to receive the overpowering reason that towers above emotions, in Jesus’ Name!_*

*_Amen._* 💕
