*MOTHERS’ DAY PRAYER FOR MOTHERS*

 

Lord God, Fountain of Life and Immortality, the wellspring of existence, from whom all things have their breath, Giver of Life and Keeper of all souls, I bring before You this day the sacred vessels of love whom You have called mothers — those who, through the mystery of Your divine will, have been entrusted with the holy labour of nurturing life – have mercy upon them and consider their plight as a gender that is much discriminated against worldwide.

 

O Fountain of Life and Immortality, You who breathed into Eve the breath of divine purpose, who chose Deborah to lead, Esther to intercede, Mary to carry the Christ, and the women at the tomb to proclaim the Resurrection —pour out upon mothers, and all the women of this generation, the same fire of Your calling, the same spirit of courage, the same grace to walk in the fullness of their divine destiny upon them.

 

Let Your light shine upon them and end the inequality they suffer.

 

O God Most High, You who wove the first mother from the dust and breathed into her the essence of Your love, look now with favour upon all mothers; and as You overshadowed Mary with the Holy Spirit and placed within her womb the Hope of the world, overshadow every mother today with Your boundless grace.

 

Lord God, the Unwavering Covenant-Keeper, the Faithful One whose promises never fail, whose word is eternal, bless all mothers who rise in the night to soothe their children; strengthen the weary hands that toil without ceasing; let the tears of mothers be counted as pearls before Your throne; and renew the hearts of mothers that have poured themselves out like a living sacrifice. Eternal Father, the Incomprehensible One – Who surpasses all thought, understanding, and measure – remove barrenness from their offspring and be their strength as they bear the weight of unseen burdens. Enfold them in the mystery of Your peace, all mothers who have known the sting of loss, and be the consolation and joy of all seekers of grace longing for children.

 

Almighty God, Lord of the Celestial Hosts, Commander of the angelic armies, whose voice shakes the heavens and the earth – set a hedge of fire around all mothers; let no weapon formed against them prosper; let no voice of condemnation rise against them; let them stand firm upon the rock of Your promises; and grant that the power of Your mighty hand may uphold them.

 

Lord God, the Hidden and Revealed, Mystery of Mysteries, Who veils Himself in glory yet makes Himself known to the humble – on this day, *Mothers’ Day*, consecrate all mothers anew; make their lives holy, their paths straight, their faith unshaken, and their love as deep and eternal as the wellsprings of Your mercy. Father, crown them with honour, clothe them with joy and love, and let all who seek to be mothers be blessed with children this time next year – in the Name of Jesus Christ, I pray.
