Lent Day 3 Prayer – Very Rev. Prof. Konyin Àjàyí, SAN.

*Day 3:  A Prayer for Pardon for Sins*

Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Lord All-Powerful, Maker of all things and Judge of all men, I have confessed my sins to the extent I can, and pray for You not to count against me those sins and wrongdoings, which I do not recollect or realise I committed.

Instead, LORD God, shed upon me the divine influence of Your mercy and confirm true and steadfast faith and a renewed mind, body, soul and spirit free of sin.

O, Lord, I commit all I am and have to You, and put all my trust in You for the pardon of my sins on account of the blood shed for humanity at Calvary – so LORD God, aid me and have mercy on me; hear my humble cry, lest I fall by the wayside and into oblivion of those living and dead in sin.

I seek the cleansing power of Your love to wash away my transgressions, making me pure and whole again. In the same way, the potter reshapes clay. May You mould me into a new creation in Christ Jesus.

Lord God, Merciful Father, cleanse me upon being pardoned and fill my heart with love, strength, and wisdom. Guide me, O Lord God Almighty, so I may climb the ladder of Christ’s light, reflect His holy nature, and live a life of righteousness.

Help me, O Lord, to embody the change that Christ brings, so all who hear of me, see me, or encounter me will be drawn closer to You, O God. Heavenly Father, grant that I enjoy the full benefits of pardon, and make me a new heart according to Your loving Kindness for the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Redeemer.

Amen.
