Our *BIBLE PASSAGE:*
Joshua 14: 6-15.
*_Joshua 14: 6-15._* (LETTING GO AND MOVING FORWARD!)
- *_Then the children of Judah came to Joshua in Gilgal. And Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, the Kenizzite, said to Joshua: “You know the word which the Lord said to Moses – the man of God – concerning you and me in Kadesh Barnea._*
- *_I was forty years old when Moses – the servant of the Lord – sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back word to him as it was in my heart._*
- *_Nevertheless, my brethren who went up with me melted the people’s hearts, but I wholly followed the Lord my God._*
- *_So, Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and your children’s forever because you have wholly followed the Lord my God.’_*
- *_And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old._*
- *_As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in._*
- *_Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said.”_*
- *_And Joshua blessed him and gave Hebron to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, as an inheritance._*
- *_Hebron, therefore, became the inheritance of Caleb, the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, to this day because he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel._*
- *_And the name of Hebron formerly was Kirjath Arba (Arba was the most incredible man among the Anakim). Then the land had rest from war._*
NKJV.

Lyrics:
‘Twas the Lord of hosts that led us out of Egypt’s sand,
And He led us through the Red Sea by His mighty Hand.
Never halting in the wilderness, but His command –
Gave assurance we were able to possess the land.
*_Chorus_*
*We are able to go up and take the country,*
*And possess the land, from Jordan to the sea!*
*And though giants, tall, be there our way to hinder;*
*God will surely give the victory!*
When the spies brought back the message, this is what they said:
“Against giants and walled cities, we cannot be led”.
But a Caleb and a Joshua said, “they’ll be as bread;
We are able to go up, possess the land ahead”!
~~~Chorus~~~
When we crossed the river Jordan, in the land we found,
Wine and oil, and milk and honey, richest fruits abound.
Sparkling fountains, and the showers came upon the ground.
We were able, hallelujah, let God’s praise resound!
~~~Chorus~~~
There’s no thirsting for old Egypt since we’re in this way,
And we care not what the critics or the ten spies say.
For the land abounds in plenty, and we’re here to stay!
Won’t you come and join us, brother, enter today?
~~~Chorus~~~
Beloved friends in Christ, as we navigate our new year of Ultimate Triumph, we are reminded of the call to move forward with faith, not retreating again into our past tribulations but embracing the promises ahead. Today, we delve into the theme *_“From Trials to Triumph—Letting Go and Moving Forward!”_* As we explore this transformative journey, let us open our hearts to the guiding wisdom of Scripture.
Our BIBLE PASSAGE was taken from Joshua 14:6-15 (NKJV). However, let us take a note from Joshua 14:10-12 (NIV):
“Now then, just as the Lord promised, he has kept me alive for forty-five years since he said this to Moses while Israel moved about in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old! I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then. Now give me this hill country that the Lord promised me that day.”
Caleb’s unwavering spirit reminds us that we can move forward with faith in God’s promises, regardless of age or circumstances.
Our *TEXT* for this Sunday in the New Year of Ultimate Triumph:
*Philippians 3: 13-14; Isaiah 43: 18-19.*
Philippians 3:13-14. (NKJV.)
- *_Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,_*
- *_I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus._*
And,
Isaiah 43:18-19. (NKJV.)
- *_“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old._*
- *_Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert._*
NKJV.
As we move further into the New Year, let us embrace the new things God is doing in our lives. Let us not mock God – in our thoughts, words and deeds – and ruin our family, neighbours, and friends. We must remember that no man makes a good advancement when burdened with heavy weights they need not carry. Hence, the discerning hearts will ask: *ARE THERE THINGS TO LET GO OF?*
- *Let Go of Past Failures:* Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV). Believe God for a positive outcome as you put a determined and focused physical effort into performing your responsibilities. Possess the serenity to let go of that painful error that deflated your ego in the recent past, which you cannot amend. Never borrow sorrows from the past: Put your wisdom into use for today and reap good dividends in the future.
- *Let Go of Bitterness:* Ephesians 4:31-32 (NIV):
*_“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other just as – in Christ – God forgave you.”_*
Embrace mercy and compassion to heal your heart and move you forward.
- *Let Go of Fear:* 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV):
*_“For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-control (sound mind).”_*
Fear shows our belief in the enemy’s powers. It paralyses us; it is the devil’s henchman. Trust in God’s strength to face the unknown.
- *_Let Go of Negative Influences:_* 1 Corinthians 15:33 (NIV):
*_“Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’”_*
Refuse to make yourself available to scorners, harbingers of lousy news and heartbreaking information. Surround yourself with godly, industrious, honest, uplifting people who encourage your faith.
- *Let Go of Worry:* Matthew 6:34 (NIV):
*_“Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”_*
Beloved, are you stressed out about your growing debt profile? You struggle to pay while your creditors treat you like a fraud, taking unhealthy advantage of your distress. However, if you let Christ in, God will grant you freedom from every bondage without harming anyone! Do you have faith in God to grant you the grace to settle your liabilities and ease your financial situation? Please do not panic or get distressed about debts that could be cancelled today when you cast your troubles upon Jesus! Beloved, trust God’s provision for each day and relinquish the need to control everything in greed and self-aggrandisement.
- *Let Go of Materialism:* Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV):
*_“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth… For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”_*
Focus on eternal treasures rather than making other people cry as you pursue some temporary gains. Help people genuinely without hurting their future. A lot of stress is attached to the love of pleasure and wealth accumulation for showy or philandering purposes. This excess cash flow and social importance we seek will distract us from pursuing what is more important! Prioritise Godliness and get all you need with a smile.
- *Let Go of Unforgiveness:* Mark 11:25 (NIV):
*_“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”_*
Forgiveness liberates us and aligns us with God’s heart. Among our friends and enemies, forgiveness gives us the peace of mind with which we attain holiness and abundant good blessings.
Beloved, let us further avail ourselves of the wisdom of the wise that guides our footsteps in life:
*_“The only way to make sense of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.”_* – Alan Watts.
*_“You won’t succeed in any productive process when your mind is so active in re-opening every sad tale about past failures and re-imagining the faces of those who had hurt you at one time or the other.”_* – Rt. Rev. Dr Michael Femi-Adebanjo.
*_“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”_* – Eleanor Roosevelt.
*_“In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity: Out of the clutter, find simplicity.”_* – Albert Einstein.
Beloved Brother and Sister, there is a word of hope for you and me as we pass through the stress of hopelessness that is common today. Everyone is struggling with one demeaning challenge or the other. When your life has no more challenges, prepare for your transition to eternity! Please remember Caleb’s spirit in Joshua 14. Just as Caleb did not allow his age or the challenges he faced to deter him from pursuing God’s promise, you – too – can embrace the hope that God offers. Beloved, God wants you to do these:
*Let Go of Despair:* Reflect on Isaiah 43:18-19. Have you given your life to Christ in Salvation? God is doing something new in your life, even if you cannot see it now. Release the weight of despair and focus on the potential for renewal and purpose. He is steadily doing it in my life; He will gladly do it for you!
*Move Forward:* Philippians 3:13-14 encourages you to forget what lies behind and press forward. Consistently take small steps each day toward the future God has planned for you without allowing a distraction. Remember, after you have been guided, taking the biblical step is the end to the hindrance of not advancing in life. Be courageous: That is the greatest strength possessed by Caleb!
There is always hope in Christ. Trust in His plan for your life, and actively seek the light ahead, even amid the darkest gloom.
*_Do you lead a Firm or Business Concerns? God has a counsel for you and me at these challenging times:_*
Stress and uncertainty can often lead to despair in business. However, as Caleb sought to take the hill country, companies can strive for new horizons or opportunities despite challenges.
*Let Go of Fear of Failure: 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that God empowers us with strength and courage. Embrace innovative ideas without letting fear of failure hold you back. Fear of failure attracts the failure.
*Let Go of Short-Term Gains:* Matthew 6:19-21 urges business people to focus on lasting values rather than immediate profits. Do not take undue advantage of a fellow man: It must backfire in due course. Build a legacy of care, integrity and service, or you may be scammed while trying to cheat others!
Do not believe the devil’s deceit that says, *_“No tradecraft can excel through fair deals in the twenty-first-century business world.”_* This is Satan’s weapon –a seed to perpetuate complacency, encourage corrupt practices and dim the wits of the simple!
*_Genuinely, triumphant success belongs to business people who embrace change, staff welfare, consumer benefit and innovation with godly faith._* Trust that God will guide your business into triumph as you let go of fear and embrace resourcefulness with a humane heart. Yes, work hard with innovative focus while caring for your partners and consumers and your integrity will grant you a place amongst those who have excelled through fair business deals. God will back you up!
*_Let the LORD’s counsel guide those entrusted minds given the grace to lead in one strata of the Government of a Nation, State, Local Government or Parastatal during this worldwide Economic Downturn:_*
A nation facing economic turmoil often grapples with corruption, faces the hurdle of hurting the masses and ensures a loss of hope. However, leaders can find guidance in *_letting go and moving forward._*
*Let Go of Corruption:* Ephesians 4:31-32 speaks to leadership’s need for integrity and compassion. A government must rid itself of corrupt practices to restore trust among its citizens. What is the essence of riches acquired through perfidy, which eventually bring shame, hatred and curses to your generations yet unborn?
*Let Go of Fear of Change:* Isaiah 43:18-19 reminds leaders to perceive the new paths God is opening. Embrace reforms that promote justice, equity and fair play for all citizens.
With genuine fear of God, a nation can rise from the ashes of corruption to a new dawn of hope and prosperity. Let go of past failures of predecessors, consider the helpful counsel from the critics, make efforts to restore probity and citizens’ trust in the polity and implement proven and tested policies that lead to a healthier life for the people today. The future can be imagined with the way we handle today’s challenges. Renewal of hope entails putting a modest blueprint in place: Will any people believe that wasteful leaders’ call for followers to make sacrifices will count?
*_Beloved, like the Atheist, do you struggle with believing in the existence of God today?_*
It looks reasonable not to believe in God’s existence amid these confusions and the impunity of the godless leadership. However, disgrace awaits maladministrators of God’s people’s nations and treasures. God’s word for us today offers a perspective on finding meaning and purpose amidst trials.
All leaders that do not stubbornly await disgrace must *Let Go of Cynicism:* Philippians 3:13-14 encourages you and me to move beyond past experiences and embrace the potential for growth and change, regardless of belief.
Please, *Let Go of Isolation:* Community is essential. Ephesians 4:31-32 speaks to the power of compassion and kindness. Engaging with others can lead to new perspectives and hope. May I invite you – most humbly – to find a Bible-believing Church and participate in hope-enlivening sessions of bible studies and worship? We all need counsel at these trying times.
Life offers opportunities for growth and connection, regardless of beliefs. Let go of cynicism and explore the possibilities of purpose and community.
As we prepare to pray, we must agree that these groups of adherents—individuals, businesses, governments, and even those who may not believe—share a *_common thread: the call to let go of what hinders us and courageously move forward._* As we embrace this message, may we find hope, renewal, and triumph in the New Year ahead.
*_Trusting God is with us at every step, let us commit to this journey together. Our trials will metamorphose into ultimate triumph, in Jesus’ Name!_*
Amen.
*_I now command every sickness – including the emotional, financial or spiritual barrenness – and failure in your life, home and ministry to be cast into the desolate places, NOW, in Jesus’ Name._*
*Beloved, Happy New Year!*
*_Amen._*
*I prophesy, according to the Word of God, that YOU will not become Satan’s prey in this End-Time where the enemy of God strives to win souls through human beings’ growing inordinate ambitions to live in a world without GOD. The human desire and demonic demand of this ageing world will not swallow you up – in Jesus’ Name.*
*_At Christ Jesus’ inspired word, the great help of God will cause you to flourish, annihilating your fears and destroying the traps set for you at these dangerous times, in Jesus’ mighty Name. ONLY BELIEVE!_*
*_O you positive energy – possess my thought life; O you power of godly success, become my strength and fulfil my destiny as I possess the master keys to rise from grass to grace in righteousness – in the Name of Jesus Christ._*
As God’s Anointed, I humbly prophesy, according to the Word of God, the evil declarations against your life are NOW divinely annulled and defeated, in Jesus’ mighty Name.
*_Every plan of the Kingdom of darkness against your soul has perished – forever, in Jesus’ mighty Name._*
*_As for me and my household – including these prayer partners reading, hearing and praying along – we shall serve the living God in sound health, good wealth and prosperity of our souls, in Jesus’ Name!_*
