Our *THEME:*
*_“FROM TRIALS TO TRIUMPH: God’s Hand in Our Year!”_*
*TEXT: Romans 8:37; Jeremiah 29:11.
Romans 8:37 –
*_“No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” (NIV)
Jeremiah 29:11 –
*_“For I know the plans I have for you,”_* declares the Lord, *_“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (NIV)
Our *BIBLE PASSAGE:*
*II Corinthians 4:7-18.*
*_II Corinthians 4:7-18._* (FAITH IN THE LORD.)
[7] *_But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us._*
[8] *_We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;_*
[9] *_persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—_*
[10] *_always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also manifest in our body._*
[11] *_For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh._*
[12] *_So then – death is working in us, but life in you._*
[13] *_And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,_*
[14] *_knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you._*
[15] *_For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God._*
[16] *_Therefore, we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day._*
[17] *_For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,_*
[18] *_while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal._*
NKJV.
And, Our *Hymn is: _”HOW CAN I KEEP FROM SINGING” Composed by_ Rev. Robert Lowry.*
My life flows on in endless song;
Above earth’s lamentation,
I hear the sweet, though far-off hymn
That hails a new creation.
Through all the tumult and the strife,
I hear that music ringing.
It finds an echo in my soul –
How can I keep from singing?
What though my joys and comforts die?
I know my Saviour liveth.
What though the darkness gather round?
Songs in the night he giveth.
No storm can shake my inmost calm
While to that refuge, clinging –
Since Christ is Lord of heaven and earth –
How can I keep from singing?
I lift my eyes, the cloud grows thin.
I see the blue above it,
And day by day, this pathway smooths,
Since first I learned to love it,
The peace of Christ makes fresh my heart –
A fountain ever springing.
For all things are mine since I am His –
How can I keep from singing?
No storm can shake my inmost calm
While to that refuge, clinging –
Since Christ is Lord of heaven and earth,
How can I keep from singing?

Songwriter: Rev. Robert Lowry
The hymn “How Can I Keep from Singing?” was written by Rev. Robert Lowry, an American Baptist minister, hymn writer, and music educator. Born on July 12, 1826, Lowry composed many hymns during his lifetime, including this one based on II Corinthians Chapter 4: 7-18. His work often aimed to inspire and uplift congregations, and he is credited with helping to shape the hymnody of his time.
Lowry also composed the hymn music, showcasing his lyric and composer talents. He wrote this hymn to express his belief in the power of faith and the enduring nature of spiritual joy, even amidst life’s challenges.
The hymn reflects themes of hope, faith, and resilience, emphasising the comfort found in Christ amidst trials and tribulations. Its enduring popularity has made it a staple in many Christian worship settings.

Our *GOOD NEWS* is titled,
*_“FROM TRIALS TO TRIUMPH: God’s Hand in Our Year!”_*
Our *TEXT*
*Romans 8:37 and Jeremiah 29:11*
Romans 8:37
*_“No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” (NIV)
This verse emphasises that faith and reliance on God can triumph over challenges and adversities.
Another uplifting verse is Jeremiah 29:11:
*_“For I know the plans I have for you,”_* declares the Lord, *_“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (NIV)
This verse reassures us that God has good plans for our lives, leading us toward a hopeful and prosperous future.
God inspired me to declare these verses’ powerful affirmations, on the First Sunday, making 2025 a year of ultimate triumph.
“FROM TRIALS TO TRIUMPH: God’s Hand in Our Year”
Beloved friends, as we begin another New Year, we must reflect on our past trials and the potential triumphs that await us through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Today, we will explore the theme, *_“From Trials to Triumph: God’s Hand in Our Year,”_* guided by the enlightening texts from Romans 8:37 and Jeremiah 29:11. So, let us reason together, being guided by a few points:
*1. Understanding Our Trials:*
Life presents us with numerous trials—hunger, despair, moral decay, and the consequences of poor leadership. In the face of these challenges, hopelessness and uncertainty make it easy to feel overwhelmed. However, as Paul reminds us in Romans, we are more than conquerors! We are empowered to transcend these circumstances through the love and strength we received, believing in Christ.
*2. The Assurance of God’s Plans:*
God’s promise in Jeremiah reassures us that, despite our trials, His plans are crafted to bring us hope and a robust future. His omniscience allows Him to see beyond our present struggles, beckoning us toward triumph as we deepen our faith in Him.
*3. The Assurance through Applicable Insights:*
- *_For the Hopeless:_*
To those feeling crushed under life’s burdens, remember that your current circumstances do not dictate your future. The God who has plans for you sees your pain and hears your cries. Trust that He is weaving a narrative of triumph from your trials. As *_Matthew Henry_* wisely observed, *_“The darkest hour is just before dawn.”_* Hold on; the dawn is on the horizon!
- *_To the Atheist:_*
For those grappling with questions about God’s existence amid chaos, I urge you to seek understanding instead of despair. Look for the beauty that often arises from adversity. The resilience of humanity during dire circumstances reveals a profound truth—the hand of a Creator who designs life with victory and purpose. As *_C.S. Lewis_* wisely stated, *_“You can make anything by writing.”_* Uncover the narrative of hope that God offers through faith!
- *_To the Governments of the Nations:_*
Leaders are responsible for cultivating trust and stewarding the resources granted to this season’s reflection. I implore our leaders to seek divine wisdom in their governance. They must remember Proverbs 29:2: *_“When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice.”_* Embrace leadership with integrity, creating pathways from trials to triumph for your nations.
- *_To Business Concerns and Firms:_*
Businesses, too, face their trials—market fluctuations, public health crises, and operational challenges. Keep in mind that every hardship presents an opportunity for innovation and growth. Embrace the principle of stewardship. As God blesses your endeavours, give back—transform your organisation into a beacon of hope. *_James Cash Penney_* remarked, *_“The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.”_*
- *_To Confused and Oppressed Individuals:_*
If you find yourself in a state of confusion, marginalisation, or oppression, know that your current plight is not your permanent condition. As you turn to God, allow Him to guide you, for His light dispels darkness. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us not to be anxious but to present our requests to God, whose peace will guard our hearts.
*4. The Guidance through Fellow Humans:*
Let these Quotes inspire us:
– *_“Out of the wounds of this world, we can find beauty and grace.”_* —Unknown.
– *_“Every trial you face today is a stepping stone to your future success.”_* —Anonymous.
– *_“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”_* —Martin Luther King Jr.
Beloved friends, we can only journey from trials to triumph when we rest assured that God’s hand guides us through every storm and not merely our unaided efforts or ability. With faith as our cornerstone, we can embrace the years ahead, eagerly anticipating our sure triumphs. Let this year be one where we witness God’s plans unfold beautifully, transforming our trials into testimonies of His grace and love. That is the beauty of prayer, positivity and faith.
Let us pray for renewed strength, hope, and wisdom to navigate life’s challenges together, holding fast to His promise that we are more than conquerors.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all as you move from trials to triumph this year, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
*_I pray that the Holy Spirit will open our eyes, giving us the ability to see beyond the physical; open our ears to hear His voice of instruction, our minds to discern the perfect law of liberty, and our hearts to receive the overpowering reason that overpowers emotions in this Year of Maximum Triumph, in Jesus’ Name!_*
*_I now command every sickness, emotional, financial or spiritual barrenness, and failure in your life, home and ministry to vanish NOW, in Jesus’ Name._*
*Beloved, Happy New Year!*
*_Amen._*
* * *
*I prophesy, according to the Word of God, that YOU will not become Satan’s prey in this End-Time where the enemy of God strives to win souls through human beings’ growing inordinate ambitions to live in a world without GOD. The human desire and demonic demand of this ageing world will not swallow you up – in Jesus’ Name.*
*_At Christ Jesus’ inspired word, the great help of God will cause you to flourish, annihilating your fears and destroying the traps set for you at these dangerous times, in Jesus’ mighty Name. ONLY BELIEVE!_*
GLORY BE TO GOD!
*_Alleluia!_*
*Again, Let Us Pray!*
(Romans 8:37) *_My Father, My God: I declare that I am more than conquerors through Christ Jesus: I stand triumphant, no matter what I face, in Jesus’ Name!_*
(Jeremiah 29:11) *_In Jesus’ Name, I align my destiny with the plan of God: From now, I march into my hopeful and prosperous future this year!_*
*_Jesus has rescued me from the demonic prison of stagnancy: I triumphantly possess my dominion. Every “curse of backwardness” against my soul, be overpowered by God’s blessing of consistent progress, in Jesus’ mighty Name._*
*_I hold on to my sanctification and consecration into righteous living, in Jesus’ mighty Name._
*_By faith, I accept my success and progress, turning every trial of mine into a triumph, in Jesus’ mighty Name._*
*_In Jesus’ mighty Name, I prophesy my ministry, marriage, relationships, health and well-being’s success into existence!_*
*_O you positive energy – possess my thought life; O you goodness and success, become my reality as I possess the master keys to rise from grass to grace in righteousness – in the Name of Jesus Christ._*
As God’s Anointed, I humbly prophesy, according to the Word of God, the evil declarations against your life are NOW divinely annulled and defeated, in Jesus’ mighty Name.
*_Every plan of the Kingdom of darkness against your soul has perished – forever, in Jesus’ mighty Name._*
*_As for me and my household – including these prayer partners reading, hearing and praying along – we shall serve the living God in sound health, good wealth and prosperity of our souls, in Jesus’ Name!_*
*_I love you, in Jesus’ Name!_*
*Amen. God Bless You!*
