1. (Psalm 121:7-8) God has promised to preserve believers’ souls from all evil – so I annul every death wish against my soul, our households, and God’s Church today, in Jesus’ Name!

 

2. (James 1:2) I receive the grace to remain steadfast, overcoming life’s challenging times by fire, in the mighty Name of Jesus.

 

3. (Luke 11: 20) With the finger of God, O Holy Spirit – remove the strength of every demonic agent sent against my life and my destiny’s helpers, in Jesus’ Name.

 

4. My New Year’s Journey is in God’s hands: I know He is working for my flourishing and greatness. I will lack nothing good, in Jesus’ Name.

Beloved friends, as we begin another New Year, we must reflect on our past trials and the potential triumphs that await us through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Today, we will explore the theme, *_“From Trials to Triumph: God’s Hand in Our Year,”_* guided by the enlightening texts from Romans 8:37 and Jeremiah 29:11. So, let us reason together, being guided by a few points:

 

*1. Understanding Our Trials:*

Life presents us with numerous trials—hunger, despair, moral decay, and the consequences of poor leadership. In the face of these challenges, hopelessness and uncertainty make it easy to feel overwhelmed. However, as Paul reminds us in Romans, we are more than conquerors! We are empowered to transcend these circumstances through the love and strength we received, believing in Christ.

 

*2. The Assurance of God’s Plans:*

God’s promise in Jeremiah reassures us that, despite our trials, His plans are crafted to bring us hope and a robust future. His omniscience allows Him to see beyond our present struggles, beckoning us toward triumph as we deepen our faith in Him.

To those feeling crushed under life’s burdens, remember that your current circumstances do not dictate your future. The God who has plans for you sees your pain and hears your cries. Businesses, too, face their trials—market fluctuations, public health crises, and operational challenges. Keep in mind that every hardship presents an opportunity for innovation and growth. Embrace the principle of stewardship. If you find yourself in a state of confusion, marginalisation, or oppression, know that your current plight is not your permanent condition. As you turn to God, allow Him to guide you, for His light dispels darkness. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us not to be anxious but to present our requests to God, whose peace will guard our hearts.
