πŸ•ŠοΈ *LENTEN DEVOTION – DAY 37* πŸ•ŠοΈ

πŸ’Ž *Thursday the Fourth Week in Lent – 26th March 2026* πŸ’Ž

πŸ’” *The Unshakeable Kingdom: Walking in Divine Authority* πŸ’”

The ancient world understood kingdoms through the lens of conquest β€” whoever held the sword held the throne. Yet Jesus introduced a Kingdom utterly unlike any the world had seen. In Matthew 6:33 (NKJV), He commanded: *_“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”_* This is not the language of passive waiting; it is the language of deliberate, daily priority.

The Kingdom of God is not a distant utopia β€” it is a present reality breaking into human history wherever the will of God is obeyed, wherever the hungry are fed, wherever the broken are restored, and wherever truth is courageously spoken to power. *Lent* is the season that strips away our false kingdoms β€” the kingdoms of reputation, comfort, and self-sufficiency β€” to reveal the one Kingdom that cannot be shaken.

In classical antiquity, the Roman Empire boasted of an eternal city. Yet Rome fell. Every empire built on human pride eventually crumbles. The Kingdom of God alone endures, and those who build within its borders β€” through prayer, service, justice, and love β€” invest in what is truly everlasting.

This Lenten Thursday, we are invited to examine where we are building. Are our energies, resources, and relationships being poured into the unshakeable Kingdom, or into temporary structures that cannot outlast this present age? Walking in divine authority means aligning our daily choices with the King’s priorities β€” mercy over judgment, sacrifice over accumulation, and eternal values over immediate gratification.

*Reflection:* In what area of your life today does God’s Kingdom need to take clearer precedence?

*Today’s practice invites us to:*

Identify one daily habit that consumes time or energy better devoted to Kingdom priorities.

Pray specifically for one person in your circle who needs an encounter with God’s Kingdom.

Meditate on Matthew 6:25–34 as a declaration of Kingdom trust.

πŸ™ *LITURGICAL PRAYER* πŸ™

*_O King Eternal and Unshakeable,_* we come before Your throne with hearts that confess their divided loyalties. We have too often built our lives around kingdoms of our own making β€” kingdoms of comfort, knowledge above the scriptures, status, and security β€” while Your Kingdom, though present and glorious, has too frequently been relegated to the margins of our daily existence. Forgive us, Lord, and restore to us the vision of Your reign in all its beauty and power. May our hearts be wholly captivated by Your purposes, so that in every decision, relationship, and endeavour, Your Kingdom comes first, in Jesus’ mighty Name. *(Matthew 6:33 NKJV)*

*Prayer for Kingdom alignment:* Gracious Father, realign our desires with Your eternal purposes. Let the pursuit of Your Kingdom be not merely a spiritual discipline or religiosity but the very breath and heartbeat of our living. Teach us to see every ordinary moment β€” the meal shared, the kindness extended, the truth spoken β€” as a brushstroke on the canvas of Your Kingdom’s advance. Grant us the courage to relinquish every competing throne within us, that You alone may reign, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. *(Hebrews 12:28 NKJV)*

*Intercession for leaders and nations:* Lord of all nations, we intercede for those entrusted with leadership in our communities, institutions, and governments. May they govern with the wisdom and humility of servants, pursuing justice rather than ill-gotten riches or power, and may the values of Your Kingdom β€” righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit β€” increasingly define the culture of our societies, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. *(Romans 14:17 NKJV)*

*Closing blessing:* May the King of all kings establish His reign in your heart afresh today. May your hands build what endures, your words carry His authority, and your life bear witness to a Kingdom that no force on earth can overthrow. Amen. *(Daniel 4:3 NKJV)*
