๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ *LENTEN DEVOTION โ€“ DAY 33* ๐Ÿ•Š

๐Ÿ’Ž *Passion Sunday – First Sunday of the Passiontide – Resurrection Hope in Waiting* ๐Ÿ’Ž

๐Ÿ’” *The Longing for Resurrection Hope* ๐Ÿ’”

This Sunday marks the beginning of โ€œPassiontide,โ€ a profound two-week period at the end of *Lent* that focuses intensely on the suffering and death of Jesus Christ. Here, we pause at the edge of Holy Week to set our hearts on the promise of new life. In this season of waiting, we fix our eyes on the risen Christ who conquered death and now invites us into deeper faith. Our hearts cry out for renewal, not by our strength, but by the power of the One who speaks life into graves.

*The rhythm of Lent remains steadfast:* we acknowledge the brokenness of the world, we lean into Godโ€™s mercy, and we hold fast to the promise that suffering is not the final word. Resurrection hope breathes courage into our days, anchoring our steps even as we endure the present with patient anticipation.

In many communities facing persistent hardship todayโ€”through economic volatility, insecurity, and social fragmentationโ€”hope can feel elusive. Yet churches, families, and neighbourhood groups witness to a different reality when they live as resurrection people: offering compassion in crisis, affirming the dignity of every person, and fostering mercy-led initiatives that rebuild trust. A church parishโ€™s act of mercy, a teacherโ€™s steadfast presence, a market workerโ€™s fairnessโ€”all become living echoes of the Gospelโ€™s promise, encouraging a nation to trust the God who makes all things new.

*Reflection:* What waiting season is shaping your faith right now? How can you cultivate hope that does not deny pain but transcends it through Christโ€™s victory? *Lent* invites us to receive forth-coming grace with patient endurance, knowing that the final act belongs to God.

*Todayโ€™s practice invites us to:*

Name a specific area of our life where each of us waits on Godโ€™s timing.

Read a resurrection-cantred scripture aloud and meditate on its implications for your daily life.

Share a story of hope with someone who is walking through a difficult season.

๐Ÿ™ย *LITURGICAL PRAYER* ๐Ÿ™

*_O gracious Saviour,_* we stand in the light of Your resurrection hope, trusting that You are able to bring life from what is broken. Strengthen our faith as we wait for the fullness of Your promises. May Your Spirit renew our courage, our compassion, and our witness this day, to the glory of God and the good of our nation, in Jesusโ€™ Name. Amen. *(Romans 8:11* NKJV)

*Prayer for meaningful endurance:* Father, teach me to wait with faith, to persevere with grace, and to hope with confidence in Your timing, I pray through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen. *(Psalm 27:14; Lamentations 3:25-26 NKJV)*

*Intercession for renewal in our communities:* Lord, pour out renewed hope on families, churches, schools, and workplaces, that lives would be marked by grace, mercy, and justice. Amen. *(Isaiah 40:31; 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NKJV)*

*Closing blessing:* May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen. *(Romans 15:13 NKJV)*

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธย *_“Behold, I make all things new!โ€ย _* ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
