🕊️ *LENTEN DEVOTION – DAY 31* 🕊

💎 *Friday, Fourth Week in Lent – Servant leadership in action* 💎

💔 *The Humble Leader in Practice* 💔

Now, God moves us to appraise the practical outworking of Christ-like leadership: service, humility, and courage to empower others. Philippians 2:3-8 (NKJV) calls us to esteem others above ourselves, modelling Jesus who took the form of a servant. Humans seek governance and community transformation. Leadership that serves the vulnerable and elevates the common good is the heartbeat of lasting change.

Let us consider governance, church leadership, or community projects where leaders listen, empower teams, and prioritise people over prestige. A mentor guiding younger colleagues, a pastor restoring dignity through practical care, or a government official championing equitable policy—These are modern-day demonstrations of servant leadership.

*Reflection:* How can I embody servant-leadership today? Who in my circles can I elevate, encourage without control, empower, or share responsibility with?

*Today’s practice invites us to:*

Identify one person you can empower or mentor this week.

Practice shared leadership in a project or ministry initiative.

Pray for leaders to embrace humility and sacrificial service.

🙏 *LITURGICAL PRAYER* 🙏

*_O Christ Jesus, our everlasting Example in Humility,_* grant me the grace to lead by serving, to listen before directing, and to promote the good of others above personal gain. Amen. *(Philippians 2:3-8 NKJV)*

*Prayer for servant leadership:* Father, grant me such wisdom, understanding, discretion and knowledge that empowers me to steward influence with integrity, compassion, and responsibility, in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen. *(John 13:14-15 NKJV)*

*Intercession for Africa:* Across Africa, O LORD God, raise leaders who will govern with piety in Godliness, mental alertness, knowledge rooted in intelligence,  justice, mercy, and accountability, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. *(Micah 6:8 NKJV)*

*Closing blessing:* May God’s divine grace empower every action that serves the common good amongst us, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. *(2 Thessalonians 3:18* NKJV)
