Day 25 in the Lenten Season – Very Rev. Prof. Konyinsola Àjàyí, SAN.
*March 29: Day 25 – Prayer for a Home of joy, peace and divine presence*
Almighty God, the Luminous and Omnipotent Majestic Father, Whose splendour fills the heavens, the Eternal Architect who laid the foundations of the earth, You who stretched out the heavens as a canopy and set the stars as lamps in the firmament, You who ordain the dwelling places of men and make their homes a sanctuary of refuge, and the the Fortress of the Righteous — establish my home in the shadow of Your majesty; crown it with Your salvation; as my Refuge be my home; fill it with your love, enrich it with Your splendour and bless it with Your peace through the Holy Spirit. O Lord, Divine Master-Builder, the Pillar of Eternity, who walked with Adam and Eve in the cool of the garden, who blessed Abraham’s tent with covenant, who dwelled in the house of Obed-Edom and brought him prosperity — let Your presence abide in my home; let my house be raised upon the rock of Your truth, its walls upheld by the strength of Your arm, its chambers filled with the fragrance of Your presence. O Spirit of the Living God, enter in! Fill every room, rest upon every heart, sanctify every space. Let no place remain void of Your glory. Let the walls of my home echo with worship. Let love be its foundation, let peace be its walls, let joy be its covering. Let the fragrance of Your presence drive out every spirit of discord, every whisper of strife, every root of bitterness. Lord, cleanse my home with the fire of Your holiness. O Alpha and Omega, Whose breath gives life to all that is, let my home be a sanctuary of worship, a dwelling of harmony, a fortress of faith – consecrated as a haven of happiness and fruition. May it be a place where joy flows like a river of eternal joy; where kindness reigns, where understanding grows, where burdens are shared; and hearts are united in purpose. Lord God, God of Love, let husband and wife be one in spirit, bound by a love that is patient, selfless, and enduring. Let children rise as olive shoots around the table, growing in wisdom, favor, and stature before You. O Lord, Ancient Refuge, my Rock and Stronghold, establish the gates of my home – let no evil enter, no affliction take root, no darkness prevail in it; let Your angels stand guard at the doorposts; and let Your Spirit be the lamp upon my household. Father: make my home a place of refuge from the storms of life; a place where weary souls find rest; where the weary are refreshed; where faith is strengthened; where the hungry are feed; and thirst for the word quenched. Lord God, Who dwells in inaccessible light and glory, You have said, “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain” – so I surrender my home into Your hands; rebuild it as You wish; bless it, sustain it; and make it a place of healing and nourishment. Father, let Your divine order reign in my home; let every word spoken within its walls be seasoned with grace; let it be a citadel of wisdom; and let it be a testimony of Your goodness, a lighthouse to all who enter, a dwelling where Christ is exalted. O Father, the Great Creator and Maker of all things, turn my home into a temple of Your presence, a fortress of divine peace, a beacon of Your Kingdom, and a throne where Your Spirit rules. Grant this my humble supplication, for I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, the Cornerstone, the Everlasting Prince of Peace, the Amen.
