*ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND THE HYMN!*
Fanny Jane Crosby was born in 1820, and she died in 1915.
*_“Praise Him Praise Him!”_* was written in 1869. This hymn celebrates Jesus as our “blessed Redeemer” and praises his amazing gifts of salvation and redemption.
This, indeed, is a wonderful stirring hymn of praise and worship to the Saviour God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
The hymn covers most essential areas of Christian experience, except for the conversion and the second coming.
How about the following: the first on repentance and faith in the gospel, the second on the second coming.

God called me to repentance. And His God-given faith to believe the gospel,

*Exhortation:*
Consider the fascinating life cycle of a caterpillar, which, after a period of eating and growing, enters a cocoon. Inside the cocoon, it undergoes a transformative process where its body is completely restructured, ultimately emerging as a beautiful butterfly. This transformation can be compared to the *_New Birth:_* just as the caterpillar must undergo a radical change to become
something entirely new, so too must individuals have a transformative encounter with Christ to experience spiritual rebirth. In Christ, we are made new, shedding our old selves to soar in the freedom and beauty of the life God provides.
Our Theme is about the New Birth: *A TRANSFORMATIVE ENCOUNTER WITH CHRIST* 💕🦅
Beloved in Christ, this passage presents a profound revelation about the necessity of spiritual transformation and rebirth through faith in Jesus Christ. Nicodemus, a respected Pharisee, visits Jesus under the cover of darkness, seeking understanding. His engagement with Jesus reveals the heart of our faith: we must not only live in adherence to the law but must also experience a radical transformation — being born again.
- *The Necessity of Being Born Again:* In the gospel of John, Chapter 3 verse 3, Jesus reveals that spiritual rebirth is essential for entrance into the Kingdom of God. This rebirth is a complete transformation, shedding the old life for new life in Christ through the Holy Spirit.
- *Understanding the Spirit:* In John 3 verse 8, Jesus explains that the new birth is a work of the Spirit, often beyond human understanding. Just as we cannot see the wind and its direction, we cannot always perceive the workings of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Faith calls us to trust in this divine process.
- *God’s Ultimate Sacrifice:* John 3 verse 16 highlights the core of the Gospel: God’s immense love for humanity. Sending His only Son to die for our sins illustrates the depth of His love and the lengths He will go to for our salvation.
- *A Call to Believe:* In John 3 verses 15 and 17, Jesus invites us to believe in Him. This belief is not a mere acknowledgement; it is faith leading to action—a commitment that brings God’s transformational power into our lives.
Let us apply our Saviour’s thoughts to these different groups:
- *An Individual Who Has Lost Hope of Living.*
Are you in despair? With His humility, Christ has taught Christians to emphasise that there is hope beyond our current circumstances through the transformative encounter with Christ. Please remember that Christ offers a new identity and purpose, as seen in John 3:16, where God’s love redeems and restores. I encourage you to seek a relationship with Christ, which can infuse your life with the renewed hope that takes away your despair.
- *To An Atheist*
To our neighbours who deny God’s existence, you and I must focus on the evidential aspects of transformation in believers’ lives. They will only believe in God when they see your honest, unexaggerated personal testimonies or examples of how encountering Christ has radically changed our lives. When Christ Jesus called me to begin the Christ’s Good News Mission, I was doing very well in Methodist Church Nigeria. I disobeyed God for four years after he had given me a sign. A gift of landed property also came… But when I agreed to obey God’s will, he made me to have a transformative encounter with him – along with my family. When we prayed to have a new property for the Church without having to beg friends for funds, we made a budget for the plots of land, survey, architectural plans and clearing. We put that before God who shocked us within a week: Millions of Naira entered our Bank Account. Going to the bank to investigate the source, we could not discover our benefactor. We fearfully executed the first layer of our budget. God does not need to always use men. He can prove himself before those who question His existence.
Prayerfully present straightforward indomitable facts to those who needs the proof, pointing out that the principles of love and community – found in Jesus’ teaching – offer a compelling alternative to worldly philosophy. Then, lovingly invite them to explore faith as a viable option. Argument, show of hatred – through condemning Biblical verses – and rash superiority complex from a believer will only reduce us to ignorant and dogmatised people before the atheists: You will end up pitying one another! They have information, but we need to win their soul with genuine love.
- *Leaders of Firms/Corporate Business*
Are you a corporate leader, we must understand the necessity of ethical leadership and integrity that stems from a transformative relationship with Christ. The principles of fairness, justice, and love for others (1 John 4:7) can lead to stronger, more resilient organisations, which positively impacts both employees and the community. Let us see money-making from the angle of the consumers’ pains, and use our care for our customers as our contribution to better life for our community. Our integrity and patriotic prowess earn us more than the physical profits.
- *The Leader in Political Governance of Nations, State, or Local Government*
I implore political leaders to recognise the importance of serving the public with integrity and justice, as exemplified in John 3:17. Christ’s love emphasises that true governance comes from a heart transformed by Christ, leading them to act in the interests of justice, mercy, and the common good rather than self-interest. Righteousness can only exalt a nation ruled by God-fearing leaders.
- *Leaders in Religious Organisations and the Ecclesia*
I encourage our religious leaders to drop the destructive thoughts that one religion is superior to the other: Jesus Christ did not come to preach Religion but a way to sanity, godliness, equity and justice, especially for the weak. All of us must model the transformative encounter with Christ in our ministry practices. As leaders of different religious Organisations, we have an added responsibility to stress the need for continual spiritual renewal and transformation. In doing this, our leadership will reflect godly love and grace, thereby guiding our congregations toward genuine faith and discipleship.
To my Muslim friend, a resonating Sura from the Quran that speaks about the ministry of Prophet Isa (Jesus Christ) is found in *_Surah Al-Imran (Chapter 3), verses 45-47:_*
45 *_(Remember) when the angels said: “O Mary! Indeed, Allah gives you good tidings of a Word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Isa (Jesus), the son of Mary – distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and will be one of those who are near (to Allah)._*
46 *_He will speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity, and will be of the righteous.”_*
47 *_She said, “My Lord, how can I have a child when no man has touched me?” He said, “Thus says Allah: Allah creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, ‘Be!’ and it is.”_*
These verses highlight the miraculous birth of Prophet Isa (Jesus) and his significance in the Islamic faith, acknowledging him as a holy prophet and messenger of God. *_Hence, there lies no controversy in the ways God has laid. Only men have lessons to learn! Let us fear God and obey His commandments – in whichever consciousness we find ourselves._*
Finally, Beloved of God – remember – as we prepare to pray and enter our purpose-driven March into greatness: *_The pathway to life is through accepting this radical transformation. Being born again is an invitation to leave behind a life of sin and embrace the fullness of life that Christ offers. As we reflect on our spiritual journey, let us recommit ourselves to being renewed each day by the Holy Spirit, trusting in God’s love and His plan for our lives. May we also carry this message of hope and transformation to those around us._*
Think again as we conclude the objectives of this solemn assembly. Please see Romans 10:9-10:
9 *_That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved._*
