ποΈΒ LENTEN DEVOTION β DAY 22Β π
π Wednesday – Fourth Week of Lent. π
πΒ Renewal of The Mind π
Today, we press into transformative thinking. In Romans 12:2 (NKJV), Paul calls believers not to be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of the mind, that they may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Lent invites a mental reordering: aligning thoughts with truth, rejecting worldly patterns, and allowing Scripture to shape desires, hopes, and decisions.
All over the world, we are navigating complex social and political realities today. *_Renewing the mind,_* the solution we all need, *_means resisting cynicism and misinformation, embracing discernment, and choosing constructive engagement. It means replacing defeatist narratives with faith-filled visions for a just and thriving societyβpolicies that protect the vulnerable, celebrate integrity, and promote common good._*
*Reflection:* What thoughts occupy my mind today? Are they dominated by fear, suspicion, or despair, or by faith, truth, and hope? Is my politics based on pulling the opponents down in all despicable or hideous means? Then, the resultant effects will serve Satan! Lent invites us to saturate our minds with Godβs Word, allowing it to renew our attitudes toward work, governance, family, and neighbours.
Todayβs practice invites:
A daily mind-renewal meditation on a key verse.
Scriptural study to replace faulty assumptions with Biblical clarity.
Prayer for Spirit-led transformation in attitudes and actions.
πΒ *LITURGICAL PRAYER*Β π
*_O God of truth,_* renew my mind by Your Word today. Help me discern thoughts that honour You and discard those that lead me away from Your purposes. May our nationsβ leaders, worship centres, and communities live out transformed thinking in daily life, in Jesusβ Name. Amen. *(Romans 12:2 NKJV)*
*Prayer for faithful thinking:* Father, guide my reflections, conversations, and decisions to align with Your wisdom. May I think with clarity, hope, and courage, in accordance with Godβs will. Amen. *(Isaiah 55:8-9 NKJV)*
*Intercession for nation-wide transformation:* Lord, where societal thinking has loosened its anchor in Your truth, anchor it again in justice, mercy, and peace, in Jesusβ Name. Amen. *(Micah 6:8 NKJV)*
*Closing blessing:Β _May the peace of Christ guard your heart and mind today. Amen._ *(Philippians 4:7 NKJV)*
