*ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND THE HYMN!*
Charles Wesley wrote the Christian hymn “And Can It Be That I Should Gain?” in 1738. Wesley wrote the hymn to celebrate his conversion to Christianity, which he believed happened on May 21, 1738.
Charles Wesley was born on December 18, 1707, in Epworth, Lincolnshire, England and died on March 29, 1788 in London, England.
This edition was published on YouTube – and performed at the All Saints’ Church, with Rob Charles on the pipe organ (1981).

*_I declare that our testimony is powerful. Hence, I claim victory over every challenge I face now, through the blood of the Lamb, in Jesus’ Name._*

Beloved in Christ, we gather to rejoice on *_the efficacy of the Blood of Jesus._* In every trial we face—personal struggles, societal challenges, or relational conflicts—the precious blood of Christ provides a pathway to triumph. His sacrifice reconciles us to God and empowers us to live victoriously.

Our central scripture today is in *Revelation 12:11* (NKJV), which states, *_“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”_* This profound verse emphasises that the efficacy of the Blood of Jesus is not only a present reality but a means through which we conquer trials.

*Biblical Note on the Power of the Blood:*
The Bible is replete with evidence of the power of the Blood. In *Hebrews 9:22* (NKJV), we read, *_“And according to the law, almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood, there is no remission.”_* The blood is essential for redemption; it cleanses us. *Ephesians 1:7* (NIV) reminds us, *_“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.”_* These explain the Ecclesiastical Belief on the Efficacy of the Blood of Jesus Christ. The Blood of Jesus doesn’t just cover our sins; it removes them, empowering us to walk in the newness of life.

We find strength and hope amidst our trials by trusting in this sacrifice.

The Blood of Jesus is not merely a historical event but a transformative power that changes lives. As we reflect on *_Romans 5:9-10_*, we see that we are justified and saved from the wrath to come, by His Blood! This justification is not just for our individual lives but extends to our communities, businesses, and nations. When we embrace the Blood of Jesus, we invite His grace into every aspect of our lives.

*Embracing Christlikeness:*
We are called to reflect Christ’s character as individuals, firms, and governments. The Blood of Jesus calls us to love, forgive, and serve. When we embody these values, we create an atmosphere conducive to national healing and business success.

The Blood of Jesus is a means to Salvation, Blessing, and Fulfilment. Not only does the Blood of Jesus atone for our sins, but it also invites us into a deeper relationship with Christ, enabling us to embrace Christlikeness. As we meditate on His sacrifice, we learn to reflect His character—love, humility, grace, and compassion. This transformation leads us toward salvation—being delivered from death to life. Furthermore, it ushers in blessings—spiritual gifts, favour, and divine consecration for His purpose—as indicated in *1 Peter 2:9* (NKJV): *_“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His special people…”_*

When we model our lives after Christ’s example, we fulfil our divine calling and contribute positively to our communities and relationships. The blood empowers us to love our neighbours, advocate for justice, and build a society grounded in integrity and righteousness.

To our government leaders, corporate firms, and every individual: *_Embrace Christlikeness._* We witness transformation when societies are led with integrity, love, and divine purpose. Businesses that reflect Christ’s principles foster environments of trust, service, and ethical standards, leading to national prosperity. Then, we do not need to run from our mis-governed nation in the midst of burgeoning divine blessings and natural endowments to seek a lee-way to greener pastures elsewhere but— in unity —demand a non-biased, farsighted and righteous change to productive governance from our leaders. Let us strive for a communal life that mirrors Christ’s love—a tapestry of rich relationships woven together by His Blood.

Imagine a nation where leaders are guided by integrity and government dedicated to the welfare of their citizens. Imagine a nation where businesses operate with fairness, corporate entities focused on stewardship rather than profit alone, and communities bound by love rather than religious and ethnic division. The world is yearning for transformation—can we not, through the Blood of Jesus, rise to the occasion?

Imagine a nation where majority of individuals extend compassion in a joint resolve to be our brother’s keeper. This is the triumph we can achieve through the Blood of Jesus!

*Call to Action:*
Today, I implore each of you to actively immerse yourselves in the transformative power of Jesus’s blood. Let it be your source of strength in trials, inspiring you to testify of His goodness and grace. Seek to be vessels of this divine love, allowing the efficacy of His Blood to guide you in your decisions, relationships, and pursuits. Stand firm in your identity as a Child of God and impact the world around you!

Let us commit to living out our faith in practical ways. As we pour out His love, we will see trials transform into triumphs. Let us stand together, united in purpose, to spread the message of His Blood, which brings redemption and restoration.

In closing, I urge you to reflect on the hymn, *_” And Can It Be That I Should Gain.”_* It encapsulates the essence of our relationship with Christ—the incredible love that flows from His sacrifice. Since the sacrifice of the Blood of Christ Jesus is the foundation for our faith, let us respond to this love by seeking His presence in our trials, trusting He will lead us to triumph.
